Detroit Closing Schools

The City of Detroit is finally taking action to address the cost of its school system. The system was built for a population of 2 million and its population is currently headed toward 0.8 million. That translates into unused or inefficient facilities.

When industry is faced with unused or inefficient facilities, they generally get rid of those facilities.

. Nothing has changed... except that the City's government is showing signs of facing facts; the citizens of Detroit may not be.
