Itsy Bitsy Spider

SEARCH BLOG: TELEVISION

My son's family headed off to California this evening. It's really quiet without our grandson. So, I thought I'd watch a little TV.

About 30 seconds into checking programs, I noticed a spider walking across the screen. Taking a tissue to capture it, I walked up to the screen and swiped at it. It was still there. I tried again. Still there. Then I realized... it was in the TV.

We have this projection set made by Samsung. It is unique in design and has been a flawless performer. But a spider inside... just sitting there?

I checked it out and found about a dozen and a half screws holding the screen panel in place. Out they came and, with some careful cajoling, out came the screen. I checked the backside of the screen. No spider. Then my wife told me to look inside the set.

There was the spider hanging by a thread right in the middle of the reflecting mirror. This time the tissue dispatched the offender. Problem solved in about 30 minutes.

Later I decided to check online for a stand that fits around the pedestal. Samsung had one ... model TR-85. But they don't seem to make it anymore. Ameriwood made a knockoff, but they don't make it anymore.
