We've begun the process of boxing up our goods. Right now, we have a wall of the garage covered to a 5 ft. height with about two rows of boxes. The opposite side is covered with tools and equipment to be moved. The cars are in the driveway.
After taking some clothes to The Salvation Army, we filled boxes with books, pictures, and dishes plus odds and ends like bowling balls and gave them to Purple Heart. Then it was off to Home Depot to buy bubble wrap and packing boxes for yet more accumulated stuff.
One oddity was the difference between Home Depot's pricing on bundles of boxes versus individual boxes.
If you go to the store and buy individual boxes [any quantity] these are the prices:
But if you choose to purchase them online as bundles of 15 each, you pay these prices plus shipping...
You can do the math... individual box price times 15. My math said it was a lot less expensive to drive 3 miles and load up the back of the Flex. We have gotten so used to the idea that buying online and buying in quantity automatically means lower unit prices.
Next time you are shopping... do the math.
