We're beginning to understand how Bill Murray's character in Groundhog Day felt. We were scheduled to leave San Francisco on Tuesday, but the flight was delayed a couple of hours due to rain and we knew we couldn't make our connection in Denver, so we re-booked for the Wednesday. Wednesday: same story and re-book for Thursday. Thursday: same story, but no seats available for Friday, so re-book for Saturday.
We thought we had an alternative today, but after the agent went through the re-booking processing, I commented that the second leg seemed awfully short. A quick check revealed that she misread the departure time as 9:50 pm when it was actually 7:50 pm. Since we were not going to make it to Denver until after 8:00 pm, that fell through.
So, on Saturday we will make the effort again. The forecast: rain. Sunday, we may start shopping for a house. No, on Saturday, we will fly to Denver... late or not. And then, if we are late for our connection, raise holy hell with the airline until they get us home... 5 days late.
