Immigration And Customs Enforcement Arrests 2,901

SEARCH BLOG: IMMIGRATION

From The New York Times:
WASHINGTON — The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency [ICE] announced on Wednesday that it had arrested 2,901 immigrants who have criminal records, highlighting the Obama administration’s policy of focusing on such people while putting less emphasis on deporting illegal immigrants who pose no demonstrated threat to public safety.
From Washington's point of view, that is good news.  They got almost three thousand criminals off the street.

From a citizen's point of view, that is bad news.  Lack of immigration and border enforcement allowed these 2,901 "immigrant criminals" to enter the country illegally.

But what about the millions of others who are in the U.S. illegally? How many of those have committed crimes other than being here illegally? Well, according to the Obama administration, breaking the law is no crime if Obama doesn't like the law and if Obama's enforcers haven't detected any crimes.  We will just have to take our chances that 2,901 represents a significant portion of those "other crimes" committed by the approximately 11,000,000 illegals.

So, why is The New York Times writing about "immigrants"?  They are simply "long term undocumented visitors"... some of whom commit other crimes than the non-crime of breaking immigration laws.  Nothing to see hear.  Just move along.
