You can debate all of the fine points about whether a one-term senator is more qualified than a one-term governor to be President of the United States, but the real test is how a president fills his time during times of the country's economic distress.
President Obama:
- Played 104 rounds of golf through the beginning of September, 2012 [for 43 months in office through the end of August, that's about 2-1/2 rounds per month or about a 1-1/2 working days per month or about 65 working days in total].
Governor Romney:
- What do Lady Gaga, LeBron James and Mitt Romney have in common? They don't play golf -- but they should!
Well, as a person who plays golf [occasionally I play flog], I can sympathize with President Obama's attraction to the game. But it shouldn't come at the expense of going to security briefings or meeting with his jobs council. But at least President Obama is concerned enough to spend time defending women's rights to be members of private golf clubs... and women's votes are important, too.
You know, now that I think about it... maybe golf should have a lower priority for President Obama than it does. Hmmm. One less distraction for Governor Romney. Could be something in that.
