Sometimes it's the little things. While it's interesting to muse about world politics and the economy and people who blow themselves up for eternal life, it is so often the little, mundane things that grab our attention and time.
For example, this week it was replacing a window that got broken when an exercise strap handle released from the anchor point on the door and whistled past my head into the fixed side of a slider window. Then there was the seat back release on the car that wouldn't release the seat... same problem that occurred two years ago under warranty and now out of warranty. Then there was the refrigerator that quit after 1-1/2 years and was deemed "irreparable" by the service techs. And finally, one of the security alarms that previously was replaced started going off randomly at 5:20 AM even though the rest of the system was quiet... got to repackage that up and send it back for the second time.
These are irritations that often seem to come in bunches and make us forget for awhile that Armageddon may be upon us. Fortunately, our leader is on high alert.
