Every Weather Event Is Not Climate Change

SEARCH BLOG: CLIMATE CHANGE.

After 16 years of no global warming, some carbon tax activists are scrambling for a new story line to raise taxes on everyone.  After all, if the global climate simply won't cooperate with the "scientific consensus" that CO2 is causing runaway global warming, then they will have to seek new "proof" that they were right and the data is wrong.

July in the U.S. was particularly warm.  The carbon tax activists were in full swing.
Heatwaves blamed on global warming.
Yes, July was warmer than usual.


But then, the next three months sort of reversed that picture.


Not much was reported about that.

Then came hurricane Sandy.

It's Global Warming, Stupid.

So, let's get this straight.  An unusual [but not unprecedented] singular weather event is evidence of global warming...

but 16 years of no warming is not evidence of anything.

There is bound to be another unusual, singular event that can be touted as evidence of a phenomenon not supported by data.  The uninformed and those with very short memories will be convinced... and more than willing to give the carbon tax activists what they seek... your money.

Here in Michigan, the trees dropped their leaves a couple weeks earlier than usual this fall.  Is that a sign of global warming, global cooling, climate change... or just natural variability in weather?
