SEARCH BLOG: CHANGE.
Every January 1 at 12 a.m. the ritual of celebrating the arrival of a new year is performed around the world. It's not so much that anyone expects the world to be fundamentally changed. Old problems do not disappear overnight. A few personal relationships may be fundamentally changed, but the dynamics throughout society and among nations do not change fundamentally.
Yet there are those among us who make a living at declaring we must fundamentally change. We must walk away from the history and tradition and even law of more than two centuries and fundamentally change the rules and attitudes and goals of our nation to supposedly right the "wrongs" of the past and assure the "fairness" of the future.
Those who do not perceive benefit in fundamentally changing a nation that has brought the greatest wealth, the greatest opportunity, the greatest generosity, the greatest admiration in the world into a model followed by lesser countries with dubious pasts... are called obstructionists... are called greedy... are called a barrier to progress.
Those who would fundamentally change our way of life use words like "fairness" and "rights" when they mean "redistribution" and "wants." They don't see that it is possible to continue expanding the wealth of the nation for all. They see it is only possible to take from one to give to another to "level the playing field." They call for unity. They call for redefinition. They call for the destruction of that which built this nation. They call for fundamental change.
Therefore, I do not wish you a happy new year. I wish you another year where our history and tradition and rule of law continues without being fundamentally changed into redistribution and playing into the hands of special interests. I wish you another year where those who seek fundamental change are frustrated and exposed for who and what they are... and what they really want.
