Many of us who have been around long enough to remember when U.S. history was taught in schools and when "modern" U.S. history included study of WWII appreciate what Rep. Allen West [retired Lt. Col.] is saying in this video. The problem isn't a new one. It began with Vietnam and has continued through today: a lack of strategic and operational vision in the conduct of warfare.
We shake our heads at the "nation building" and the "rules of engagement" and the "cultural sensitivity training" that come from the minds and mouths of what now pass as military leadership. Just once, we'd like to hear a modern general say the equivalent of "nuts" to all of this politically-correct nonsense.
This is a longish video, but worth watching, especially if you know someone in the military. h/t The Right Planet.
