Obama's Campaign Tosses Out Another Red Herring

Red herring: a distraction from the real issue.  In this case, it is the major "scandal" regarding the Chick-fil-A owner's personal position on homosexual marriage.  Stop the world!  A Christian businessman finds the idea of homosexual marriage repugnant.  Therefore, his company is a bad, bad thing.

  • Chick-fil-A Founder and Chairman S. Truett Cathy, who began his restaurant career more than 60 years ago with a single eatery, saw his company reach $4.1 billion in 2011 for an 13.08 percent increase over the previous year; same-store sales increased seven percent over 2010.
  • Since the first Chick-fil-A® restaurant opened in 1967, the company has posted 44 consecutive annual sales increases.
  • Chick-fil-A remains the second-largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the country and one of the nation's largest privately held restaurant chains. [source]
Yes, here is a company that provides decent products at decent prices and continues to grow and employ more people each year.  But Mr. Truett didn't build that company.  The Federal government and homosexuals who deserved to get married built that company!  Just as Obama built this economic recovery... which started with the "summer of recovery" in 2010 and has now achieved an unemployment rate of... about the same when Obama took office.

Mr. Obama and his press minions are seeking any... ANY... diversion from the rotten performance of this administration.  So when you hear about the next "crisis"... social, Syrian, whatever... think RED HERRING.

Oh, by the way, Muslims are vocally against homosexuals.  Well, we can't have any Muslim businesses springing up, can we?

July 21, 2007 My guess is that if there is an interest rate change, a cut is more likely than an increase. The key variables to be watching at this point are real estate prices and the inventory of unsold homes.

The high priestess of US monetarism - a revered figure at the Fed - says the central bank is itself the chief cause of the credit bubble, and now seems stunned as the consequences of its own actions engulf the financial system. "The new group at the Fed is not equal to the problem that faces it," she says, daring to utter a thought that fellow critics mostly utter sotto voce.
January 22, 2008 The cut has become infected and a limb is in danger. Ben Bernanke is panicking and the Fed has its emergency triage team cutting rates... this time by 3/4%. ...

What should the Federal Reserve do now? Step back... and don't be so anxious to raise rates at the first sign of economic improvement.
Individuals and businesses need stability in their financial cost structures so that they can plan effectively and keep their ships afloat. Wildly fluctuating rates... regardless of what the absolute levels are... create problems. Either too much spending or too much fear. It's just not that difficult to comprehend. Why has it been so difficult for the Fed?
